Rose Marie Lakes

Rose Marie Lakes, 87, of Merrill, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at her home.

Rose Marie was born December 13, 1936, in Merrill, daughter of Rinehardt and Johanna (Hassel) Graap. She married Steven E. Lakes and he passed away on September 15, 2007. Rose Marie worked many years as a registered nurse at hospitals in California and eventually took a position in home care nursing. Rose Marie moved back to the Merrill area about 15 years ago.

Rose Marie is survived by her children, Cindy Martinez of Redding, CA, Debbie Guardade of Central Point, OR, and Randy (Regina) Degner of Merrill; 22 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Rose Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Lakes; parents, Rinehart and Johanna Graap; daughter Mary Degner; grandson, Ricky Degner; and several siblings.
