Paul Ritchie, age 68, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016, under the care of his loving family, the nursing home staff, and hospice services at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill. Paul was born February 22, 1948, in Bessemer, Michigan, son of the late Oscar and Eunice (Grigsby) Ritchie. He married Georgene Lane on September 18, 2015. She survives. Paul’s career was with the U.S. Army. He retired honorably after more than 20 years of service. Paul enjoyed fishing; county western music, especially Willie Nelson; and the Green Bay Packers. Survivors include his wife, Georgene Ritchie, Merrill; daughter, Rosalie Oestreich, Wausau; son, Chris (Shawna) Kletzine, Merrill; six grandchildren, Star, Spence, Bram, Chance, Allie and Zoe; several siblings, including his brothers, Kurt (Kelly) Ritchie and Carl (Laura) Ritchie, both of Texas, and Dwight (Cheryl) Ritchie, Oxford, Wisconsin, twin sister, Paula (Roger) Lamp, Elkton, South Dakota, and sister, Carol (Richard) Schotz, Neenah, Wisconsin; and other relatives and friends. A Private Funeral Service was held. Burial was in Snow Hill Cemetery, Town of Scott, with graveside military rites conducted by the Merrill V.F.W. Post 1638 Honor Guard. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family with arrangements.
