Otto A. ‘Buddy’ Bergman, age 74, of Merrill, passed away on February 9, 2016 due to cancer. Otto was born on March 6, 1941, son of the late Otto and Emma (Beyer) Bergman. He was the youngest of four children. Otto married Julia Bruns on October 5, 1963. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2015. Otto graduated from Merrill High School in 1959. Otto and Julia moved to Milwaukee in 1964 and resided there for 42 years. While in Milwaukee, he worked at Babcock and Wilcox for sixteen years. He then became a truck driver. Otto retired in 2006 and moved back to Gleason. He then took a job driving for Pat Walker Trucking and officially retired after a few years. Otto enjoyed bowling, camping, playing cards with the guys on Sundays, driving the trails on his A.T.V., driving his golf cart, and spending time with his family. He loved his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughters, Robbin (Dave) Gigl and Lisa (Rich) Cichy both of Merrill; four grandchildren, Adam Gigl, Cory Gigl and Taylor Cichy all of Merrill, and Kyle Cichy stationed in Italy while serving in the United States Army; and one sister, Margie Burkum of Merrill. Otto was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Bergman; his parents, Otto and Emma Bergman; and his siblings, Delaine Oldenburg and Carl Bergman. A private service will be held.
