Lucille Janet Raasch, 86 was born on September 23, 1929 in the Town of Corning, WI to the late Elmer and Elsie Leistikow. Lucille gracefully exited this world on February 24, 2016. She met Donald George Raasch at the Lincoln County 4-H Fair and they married on a snowy November 17, 1947. In 1955 they realized a dream and took over the family dairy farm from her parents, Elsie and Elmer. Lucille was a partner, house wife and best friend to Donald as they worked the farm for 26 years while raising three children. In 1982 they retired from farming and moved to Merrill where Lucille was active with St John’s Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and Bible Club and Christian Women’s Club. Lucille is remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She loved spending time with her friends, family, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lucille’s recent years were spent with the wonderful and caring people of Bell Tower Residence in Merrill. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald, her daughter Geralyn Reichl and her sister June Roerick. She is survived by her children Gary (Carol) Raasch of Avon Park, FL, and Julie (David) MacLeod of Prior Lake MN. She is also survived by her grandchildren Stephanie (Troy) Weisenberger, Jeremy (Michelle) Raasch, Jesse (Sharon) Raasch, Jason Raasch and Scott (Katrina) Terrance; her great grandchildren Breana and Ryan Weisenberger, Adam and Allison Raasch, Alyssa and Devin Weidner and Bridgett Lavaser; and her siblings Harlan (Judy) Leistikow and Gertrude (David) Johnson. Visitation will be held in the Holy Cross Chapel at Bell Tower Residence, 1500 O’Day Street, Merrill, on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 4 to 7 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Merrill, beginning at 11:00 AM. Visitation at the church on Thursday will begin at 9:30 AM. Lucille’s final resting place will be next to Donald and Geralyn at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran School, Merrill.
