John R. Burrow, Sr.

John R. Burrow, Sr. age 85, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at his home under the care of his family and hospice services. John was born May 19, 1934 in the Town of Birch, Lincoln County, son of the late Arthur and Dorothy Burrow, Sr. John honorably served in the U.S. Air Force for over twenty years. Prior to his retirement John had worked at Anson-Gilkey and Semco, both in Merrill. John enjoyed casino trips, deer hunting, spending time outdoors, and taking car trips throughout the state. Survivors include his children, Joyce (Ken) Burrow-Whiteash and James (Jen) Burrow, both of Connecticut, and Barry (Sharon) Burrow and John (Brenda) Burrow, Jr., both of Merrill; his grandchildren, Justin, Cliff, David, Chrissy, John III, Daniel, Brandon, Megan, Tyra, Joshua, Tyler, Ben, and Katlyn; his great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Braylin, Kayla, Ella, and Riley; and his siblings, Totsy Kleinschmidt, Stuart (Millie) Burrows, Geraldine Mahn, Honey Weber, Barbara Simpson, William (Delores) Burrow, Ronald (Malinda) Burrow, Sally (Paul) Robins, and Tom Burrow. John was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings and in-laws, Dorothy Toffleson, Vernon Kleinschmidt, Art and Ramona Burrows, Jr., Molly McQuen, Jackie and Fred Stiver, David Simpson, and Patrick and Donald Burrow. Inurnment of John’s cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Veterans Memorial Section of St. Francis Cemetery, Merrill, with graveside military rites conducted by the Merrill V.F.W. Post 1638 Honor Guard. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremations Services, Merrill is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com.
