Jack D. Grawien

Jack D. Grawien, 75, Town of Pine River passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023, at his home.

He was born December 14, 1948, in Merrill, son of the late Elwood and Ruth (Hoff) Grawien. On June 27, 1970, he married Audie Schmeling in Neenah. She survives.

From 1969 until 1997 Jack worked at the Neenah Paper Mill. Throughout his life Jack loved being outdoors and outside. He proudly served his country in the 502nd Combat Support Group in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Audie Grawien, Town of Pine River, two sons, Yancy Grawien, Appleton and Shannon “Otis” Grawien, Merrill, two grandchildren, Tristan and Elijah, his siblings, Lloyd (Linda) Grawien, Wausau, Rodney (Dorothy) Grawien, Merrill, Jody (Barb) Grawien, Gleason, Heidi (Jerome) Zinzer, Irma, two sisters-in-law, Peggy (Carl) Kennedy, Shawano and Vicky (Paul) Blaney, Jacksonville, FL along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service for Jack will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. The Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Burial will follow in Springbrook Cemetery, Town of Pine River. Visitation will take place from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and again on Friday beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church.
