Harry 'Hans' Tritten

Harry ‘Hans’ R. Tritten, 80, of Merrill passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, under the care of his family, the nursing home staff and hospice services. Harry was born on April 24, 1937 in Wausau, son of the late Harry A. Tritten, Sr. and Marie (Kundo) Tritten. He married Ethel Dittmar on July 11, 1959. She survives. Harry and Ethel ran a dairy farm in the Town of Pine River for twenty years. In 1979, they sold the farm and Harry went to work at the Woodchip Corporation (later called Hunt Forest) until retirement in 2004. Harry spent many long weekends camping and fishing with his wife, and enjoying his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Tritten; daughters, Cindy Krause and Gail (Rob) Daley; grandsons, Anthony (Becky) Renken and Matthew (Ashley) Renken; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Harley Renken; step grandchildren, Joshua Daley (Tia Maguire), Nikole Daley (Troy Knight), Amy Krause and Lori (Kurt) Wendt; step great-granddaughter, Emily Wendt; and brother, Frank Tritten. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marie Tritten; son-in-law, Larry Krause; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Tritten. The family would like to thank the Pine Crest Nursing Home nursing staff for the kindness and support given to Harry and his family. A private funeral service will be held.
