Duane W. Krause

Duane W. Krause, 75, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 26th, 2023 while caring for his animals. Duane was born August 4th, 1948, in Merrill, son of Walter and Dorothy (Scheu) Krause. He married his wife of 50 years, Cathy Bellin on May 19th, 1973.

Duane was a very hard worker and was a dairy farmer his entire life. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, listening to Packer’s and Brewer’s games, shooting pool, doing puzzles, playing games, playing with his grandchildren, watching the wildlife around him and gardening. He was always a big kid at heart; always ready for a game, joking around with the kids and grandchildren, and playing kickball at the grandchildren's birthdays.

Duane is survived by his wife, Cathy Krause of Merrill; mother, Dorothy Krause of Merrill; sons, Shawn (Kristie) Krause of Wausau and Jason (Leah) Krause of Merrill; grandchildren, Mitchell, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn and Elise; and two special nieces, Amy Krause and Lori Wendt. Duane was preceded in death by his father, Walter Krause; and brother, Larry Krause.

The memorial service for Duane will take place on Friday December 8th, 2023, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM. Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill is assisting the family.
