Donald A. Norman

Donald A. Norman, 84, of Merrill, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at Benedictine Living Community in Wausau.

Donald was born April 4, 1940, in Chicago, son of George and Helen Jeanette (Wildey) Norman. He married Mary Ann Frawley on April 5, 1959, in Milwaukee. Don retired from the former W.C.A. Industries in Merrill where he worked for many years. He also was a school crossing guard at Trinity Lutheran School for fifteen years. Don enjoyed flowers and gardening, listening to music, and dancing in his younger years. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Norman of Merrill; children, Debra Lee (Fred) Shook of Lavinia, TN, Tom (Bonnie) Norman of Tomahawk, Dan Norman of Merrill, Jody (Mike) Mudano of Las Vegas, and Jake Norman of Merrill; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and sister, Janet (Rev. David) Johnson of Eagle River. Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Jo Norman Hantke; parents, George and Helen Jeanette Norman; and siblings, Richard Norman, Eddy Norman, and Carol Cassell.

The memorial service for Donald will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Philip Schneider will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. The burial will take place at a later date at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Bloomville. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
