Bonelle ‘Bonnie’ Lewis Millenbah, age 96, of Merrill passed away on April 15, 2021 at Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill. Bonnie was born June 18, 1924 in Elgin, Nebraska. She married Jack D. Millenbah (originally from Gleason, Wisconsin) in Omaha, Nebraska in March of 1946. After Jack graduated from Creighton University Medical College in August of 1950 they moved back to Merrill where Jack opened his private practice. Jack preceded her in death on April 5, 2000. Bonnie lived in her current house for 71 years. Bonnie loved being a homemaker and raising their four children. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin on the Prairie River with the family. She loved gardening and golfing. Bonnie was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Merrill. She was a Sunday school teacher and became the first female elder of the church. Bonnie loved her card, couples, and sorority clubs. After Jack retired they spent much of their time traveling. Bonnie also enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Jay (Mary Jo) Millenbah of Merrill; son in law, Rick Penne of Oakdale, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Bob Penne of Tilden, Nebraska, Bonnell Penne of Norfolk, Nebraska, Katie and Jackie Millenbah both of Wausau; and Amber and Ashley Millenbah both of Merrill; step grandchildren, Brenda Kufahl and Steve Cotey both of Merrill; great grandchildren, Logan Millenbah of Wausau, Hunter Diels of Wausau, and Monroe Penne of Tilden Nebraska; and step great grandchildren, Brandon and Aaron Kufahl of Merrill, and Marley and Sophia Cotey of Merrill. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her daughter, Mary Ann Penne; sons Jeff and Todd Millenbah; her parents; and seven siblings. Bonnie’s funeral will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Jess Wakefield will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, Merrill; Bell Tower Residence in Merrill; or the charity of your choice. Wearing a mask and social distancing are recommended at the funeral home.
