Beatrice E. Marquardt

A celebration of Beatrice's life will be held at a later date. Beatrice E. Marquardt, 90, of Merrill, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill. Beatrice was born March 10, 1930, in the Town of Corning, Lincoln County, daughter of the late Leonard and Mildred (Wendt) Woller. She married Lyle Marquardt on August 28, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Berlin, Marathon County. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1968. Beatrice and Lyle had farmed in the Town of Corning. Beatrice loved being a farmer, raising animals of all kinds including chickens, ducks, geese and sheep. She also loved her many parakeets, dogs and cats over years. Beatrice had also worked at Lincoln Wood Products for many years. She taught herself how to reupholster furniture and also made down pillows that were given as wedding presents to family and friends. Beatrice enjoyed watching baseball and was a fan of the Milwaukee Braves/Brewers. She also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and had traveled to the former ‘City Stadium’ to watch them play. Beatrice loved her grandchildren and always made time for them. They loved following their grandma around wherever she went. She was affectionately called ‘Aunt Bea’ by her nieces and nephews. Beatrice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Berlin. Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Terry) Ralph of Mosinee, Renea (Todd) Frederick of Merrill, and Marsha Borelli of Wausau; sons, Fran Marquardt and Dale Marquardt both of Merrill; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Hanke of Waupaca, Joyce Plaza of Weston, and Margaret (Tom) Becker of Merrill; brothers, Denvert (Patsy) Woller of Merrill and Eugene (Donna) Woller of Mount Horeb; and sister-in-law, Jalaine (Earl) Woller of Merrill. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her parents, Leonard and Mildred Woller; daughters-in-law, Janet Marquardt and Bertha Marquardt; brothers, Kenneth (Elida) Woller and Gordon Woller; and brothers-in-law, LaVern Hanke and Norm Plaza. A celebration of Beatrice’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Beatrice’s name to Northland Lutheran High School, 2107 Tower Rd., Kronenwetter, WI 54455
