Barbara J. Bakke

Barbara J. Bakke, 75, of Merrill, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home.

Barbara was born November 23, 1948, in Oconomowoc, WI, daughter of Franklin and Lois Schoenfeld. She worked in nursing care at skilled nursing facilities. Barb enjoyed being outside whether it was camping and swimming in the lake or working in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed cooking and decorating her home. Barb had a great fashion sense and was always put together. She was very sociable and enjoyed the company of her friends and neighbors.

Survivors include her daughter, Samantha (Brent) Kerbel of Port Washington, WI; grandchildren, Lillian and Benjamin Kerbel both of Port Washington, WI; longtime friend, LaVern Meurett of Merrill; and brother, Dennis Schoenfeld of Gainesville, GA. Also surviving are LaVern’s children, Laurie Meurett (Pete Rynes) of Minneapolis and Dan (Lori) Meurett of Stevens Point; and LaVern’s seven grandchildren. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Lois Schoenfeld; and LaVern’s son, Dean Meurett.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
