Allen F. Buch, 80, of Merrill, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at his home under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
Allen was born June 24, 1942, in Merrill, son of the late William and Ella (Moeck) Buch. He married Phyllis Arlie Nass on September 28, 1961, at the former St. John Lutheran Church, Town of Scott, Lincoln County. She survives. Allen worked at Goetsch’s Welding for forty years. He also worked construction with Harry Borchardt, bartended at Schmidt’s Ballroom, and worked at Lakeside Trucking. For several years, he worked for Lange Auction. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, working in the woods with Knute, and taking the occasional casino trip. He served his country in the Army National Guard during the Berlin Crisis and was stationed in Washington. He was a member of AMVETS. Allen was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church, Village of Maine.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Buch of Merrill; children, Chris Buch (Karen) of Merrill, Amy (Charlie) Krenz of Wausau, and Audrey Voigt of Merrill; granddaughters, Nicole (Benjamin) Krenz and Ashley Krenz (Gary); great grandchildren, Preston Krenz, Lydia Krenz, and Baby Girl Krenz on the way; three brothers, Ralph (Phyl) Buch of Merrill, Jerome (Judy) Buch of Irma, and Jeff (Sandy) Buch of Merrill; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jaeger of Merrill and Bonnie Radtke of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ella Buch; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Max and Ella Nass.
The funeral service for Allen will be held at 12:00 P.M., Noon, Monday, May 15, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, Village of Maine. Rev. Donald Love and Rev. Allen Behnke will co-officiate. The burial will take place in Faith Lutheran Cemetery-West, Town of Scott, Lincoln County. Graveside military rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 1638, Merrill. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M., on Monday at the church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
