Susan K. Kufahl

Susan K. Kufahl, 64, of Wausau passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at her home. Susan was born on May 31, 1957, in Merrill, daughter of the late Melvin and Fern (Whitney) Kufahl Sr. Susan graduated from Merrill High School in 1975. After graduation she attended UW Stevens Point where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree, she then worked as a water quality and conservation educator. Susan enjoyed taking nature walks and spending time outside, which she often got to do at work. Susan spent her time reading crime novels and mysteries, westerns, puzzles, sewing crafts and cross stitching, and watching the Green Bay packers. Most importantly Susan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her beloved dog Murphy. Susan is survived by her son, Zachary (Melissa Haroldson) Kufahl; four grandchildren, Layla, Matthew, Cody, and Colton; and siblings, Betty Tewes, Robert (Stephanie) Tewes, Michael (Cindee) Kufahl, Marilyn Hodgson, Melvin (Sharon) Kufahl Jr., and Chris Kufahl. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Fern Kufahl Sr.; and brother-in-law, James Hodgson. A memorial service for Susan will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, with Rev. Michael Southcombe officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
