Phyllis M. Rahlf

Phyllis M. Rahlf, 89, of Merrill, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Riverview Health Services, Tomahawk.

Phyllis was born January 3, 1934, in Merrill, daughter of the late Edmund and Lillian (Berndt) Kleinschmidt. She married James D. Rahlf February 26, 1949, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1992. Phyllis worked at the Merrill Candy Company and Hanson Glove/Fox Point/Midwest Outerwear. She enjoyed trips to Arizona, flower gardens, and most of all, spending time with her family. Phyllis was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Merrill.

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Allen Rahlf of Irma and Bruce (Gloria) Rahlf of Rhinelander; grandchildren, Mickel, Dustin, Philip, and Lee; step-grandchildren, Warren, Trevor, and Karen; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Krause and Joy (Dootie) Hulke both of Merrill. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James Rahlf; parents, Edmund and Lillian Kleinschmidt; daughter-in-law, Jean Rahlf; granddaughter, Michelle Grudzinski; and brothers, Jack Kleinschmidt, James (LuEllen) Kleinschmidt, and LeRoy Kleinschmidt.

The funeral service for Phyllis will take place at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Pastor Tryphine Schruba will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Town of Scott. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
