Jacqueline J. Pahls

Jacqueline J. Pahls, 85, of Merrill, formerly of Gleason, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Aspirus Merrill Hospital.

Jacqueline was born September 15, 1938, in Merrill, daughter of Lawrence and Emma (Chariton) Barney. She married James A. Pahls on August 1, 1959, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Jim and Jackie resided in New London after their wedding. While in New London, Jackie worked as a Nurse’s Aide. In 1975, Jim, Jackie, and their three children moved to the Gleason area to be closer to family. They purchased a dairy farm on McCloud Road and ran that for many years. Jackie also worked as a cook at several establishments in the area.

Jackie enjoyed time with her family, deer hunting, fishing, gardening and canning, and bird watching. She also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR.

Survivors include her children, Christine ‘Cricket’ (Todd Schram) Pahls-Schram, Jeffrey Pahls, and Mike Pahls all of Gleason; grandsons, Daniel (Stefani) Pahls of Merrill and Justin (Kristine) Pahls of Gleason; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Pahls; parents, Lawrence and Emma Barney; and sisters, Dorothy (Ralph) Strasdin, Virginia (Archie) Allikas, Leona (Roy) Woller, and Marion (Albert) Butkus.

The funeral service for Jackie will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. The burial will take place in Forest View Cemetery, Town of Vilas, Langlade County. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the staff at Woodland Court for the loving care Jackie received while she was under your care. She will always be “The Queen Bee.”
